Code of Conduct

The shared standards everyone at NCTE 2026 commits to — attendees, speakers, sponsors and CCCN staff — so the conference is safe, inclusive and productive for the whole ELT community.

Section 1 Our pledge

To be drafted. CCCN's commitment to a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodivergence, physical appearance, age, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion or its absence.

Section 2 Where this code applies

To be drafted. All conference spaces and side-events: the CCCN Los Yoses venue on Day 1, the virtual webinar rooms on Day 2, the conference website and planner, and any official social or networking activities.

Section 3 Expected behavior

  • Be welcoming, inclusive and considerate.
  • Respect differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • Give and receive feedback gracefully.
  • Take responsibility for your impact.
  • To be expanded by CCCN's team.

Section 4 Unacceptable behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form.
  • Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination.
  • Sexual language or imagery in conference spaces (incl. virtual ones).
  • Sustained disruption of talks, panels or networking sessions.
  • Photographing or recording without consent.

Section 5 Reporting an incident

To be drafted. How and where to report — staff on site (red CCCN lanyard), reporting form, dedicated email ncte@centrocultural.cr, and emergency contact details.

What to include in a report

Section 6 Confidentiality

To be drafted. Reports are handled confidentially; the identity of the reporting party will not be shared without explicit consent.

Section 7 Enforcement

To be drafted. Range of responses: verbal warning, removal from a specific session, removal from the conference, ban from future editions. Decision process, who makes the call, right of appeal.
